Introducing Jacqueline D. Rooths

I welcome you into my life! I serve on the ministerial staff of Union Bethel A.M.E. church in Brandywine, Maryland under the guidance and leadership of Rev. Dr. Harry L. and Rev. Sherita Moon Seawright.
My mission as a child of God and a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is to provide suggestions to others based on my life experience, education and challenges for those who are striving to lead a healthy lifestyle, making wise choices in food, exercise, rest, and stress relief.
My emphasis is living a life that is pleasing and honoring to the Lord. I provide encouragement through the Word of God, prayer support, praise reports, and sharing of information pertaining to healthy lifestyles, using practical application of Biblical principles, and personal growth in our relationship with God.
I believe that each one of us is a “work in progress” and learning and growing in many areas. “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God”….1 Corinthians 10:31.
My Purpose here and in my life, is to assist people in being all they can be with/and through: hands-on bodywork ~ accessing the mental, emotional, spiritual through the physical; voice-dialogue; conscious movement; and a food program you can live with.
It seems many are joining together to “fight” cancer; I’m of the mind of working/playing to prevent it. How I wish to accomplish this:
The creation of body-care products and “medicinals” which are as natural as possible realizing that what goes ON the body (skin IS a third kidney and third lung). It is as important as what goes IN the body.
With all the processed and genetically modified “foods” it seems folk are mostly eating for convenience and taste and NOT for nourishment. My job is to teach people how to create nourishing foods for convenience as well as taste, while gaining the nourishment nature intended by eating the foods made for us. What people have found eating this way is, they can, if necessary, lose weight while staying healthy ~ AND it’s a lifetime process instead of a lose-only-to-regain-it roller-coaster ride.
I am qualified to do this, as this is how I’ve lived my life for the last 18+ years, healing myself of depression as a result of post traumatic syndrome, infections, sciatica, placing diabetes in remission, dealing with hypothyroidism, twice afflicted with cancer and other minor ailments. People say I am “lucky” because I am healthier now than when I was in my 20’s. No, I have and continue to do what is necessary to live my life fully. My outcome for myself is to continue the process of health and healing, as I get older. My outcome for you is for you to do the same.
Most health problems are related to lifestyle and are preventable. Research on the immune system and other studies on what keeps people healthy have identified the following important factors:
♥ Hope (activating God’s promises).
♥ Religious belief and faith in God through the blood of Jesus Christ.
♥ Meditation and prayer.
♥ A sense of meaning and purpose in life.
♥ Belonging, a sense of connectedness to others (individuals and small groups) and community.
♥ A sense of responsibility.
♥ A positive self-image.
♥ Touch and love.
I believe that these are spiritual factors and traditional areas for church involvement in the lives of its members and community. The church can empower people to take responsibility for their health by making positive lifestyle changes. A transformation that is deeply rooted in an enduring spirituality will lead to healthy behavior and thinking.
I believe the human body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, a sacred place consecrated by God’s presence. People who believe that the body is a gift and the dwelling place of God will treat it with great care.
